The Road to Digitally Transforming the Courts

The Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations (SPJI) 2022–2027 is the reform and modernization program of the Supreme Court of the Philippines (SC) anchored on the constitutional mandate of the SC to deliver speedy and equal justice for all.

Aimed at addressing some of the perennial problems that the Judiciary faces each year, SPJI was launched as a comprehensive roadmap to deliver its mandate guided by the principles—Timely and Fair Justice, Transparent and Accountable Justice, Equal and Inclusive Justice, and Technologically Adaptive Management—to lead the Judiciary’s innovations over a five-year period.

Launched under the leadership of Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo, the SPJI aims to transform the justice system to provide the following outcome: (1) EFFICIENCY, through strealimed courts systems, both adjudicative and administrative, and effective monitoring and evaluation of the performance of justices, judges, and court officials and personnel, (2) INNOVATION, through the creation of an Information and Communications Technology Infrastructure for the Judiciary, and (3) ACCESS, through inclusivity, transparency, and accountability in court adjudicative and administrative systems and procedures.
